Prices are very high for routine service. $600 for a battery is not acceptable but unfortunately it can't be replaced except at the dealer.

We acknowledge that our pricing may seem high. In response, we dedicated last week to reducing maintenance pricing by an average of 28%. Unfortunately, your battery purchase occurred prior to these adjustments. Regarding the 3% credit card fee, you noted that customers should not be surprised by any additional fees at checkout. Please note that this fee has not been implemented yet. We have communicated this in advance to ensure that no customer is unexpectedly charged. Our aim is to maintain openness and transparency regarding all fees.

service advisor was friendly. service was quick. Technician spilled or splashed some oil while filling. (Visible fresh oil around fill cap area and on wiring harness adjacent to fill cap area). Technician forgot to reset oil change indicator but I noticed before leaving and the technician came out and reset it quickly. Shortly after leaving another inspection warning came on saying an inspection was due in 12 days. When I called the service advisor told me what it might be and offered the option of returning for a $189 dollar inspection or a $500 inspection to clear the reminder. Or live with the reminder till my next service. When I asked what Volkswagen’s recommended service was based on my mileage and history I couldn’t get a clear answer on what is really needed other than recommendations from the master technician but those are above and beyond the VW recommends in the service manual. The service advisor was very patient but ultimately I wish this these recommendations had been discussed while I was there for the oil change service.

Thank you for the feedback. You requested our standalone oil change service, which consists of a safety inspection and an oil/filter change. Your advisor did offer a recommended maintenance package, which you declined. Had you chosen the recommended maintenance package, all of your concerns would have been addressed, including the inspection.
